Nintendo to attend TGS all because of Dragon Quest IX?
We don’t know if you’ve noticed but Nintendo has never attended a single Tokyo Game Show (TGS) ever since its inaugural event back in 1996. While it should be remembered that Satoru Iwata revealed the Wiimote in the said event a couple of years ago, Nintendo never actually had a booth.
Well, it looks like that is about to change this year provided that gaming site Kotaku’s scoop is accurate. According to the site, Nintendo will actually be a major player at this year’s event and will set up a rather big booth. So why is that, you wonder?
The reason, as according to rumors, is upcoming video game title Dragon Quest IX. There is no denying that Dragon Quest is one of the most loved and most successful series in the history of video game industry. Some are even hinting that Nintendo wants to be remembered every time people see the title at this year’s event.
In the past, all TGS-related appearances of Dragon Quest usually belonged to Square Enix. If this rumor turns out to be true, it is needless to say that fans will also see goodies and updates for other Wii- and DS-related products as well.
