Microsoft’s rockstar-on-wheels: Guitar Hero II national tour van rolling on
RedOctane‘s Guitar Hero II and Microsoft are putting the “Van” in “Van Halen.” [cue groan from audience]. As CNET reports, the promotion for the be-your-own-rockstar game from RedOctane is well underway, with a road tour across North America. Microsoft did a “Pimp My Ride” on two moving vans and hooked up some TV monitors on the side.
Last week, the vans wheeled into San Francisco and Boston and got the attention of a crowd for a jamming session right in the middle of the streets. Or on the sidewalks, at least. Hey, even rockstars aren’t exempt from the law.
The vans are hitting Los Angeles and New York next week. Oh. And yes, once again, we’ve tried to ask our own Chris L. to try and show up for the GHII vans in NYC, and like last time, he gave the same excuse.
