Rumor: FFVII Remake for the PS3 confirmed?

It’s been a long running rumor that FFVII will get a remake. Given Square Enix‘s current status of publishing so much remakes, ports, and spin-offs, it’s quite feasible that they would want to earn riches by remaking FFVII. A poster by the name of Akhanda over at the GameFAQs board is saying that French magazine “Gameplay RPG” received confirmation from SE about the remake exclusively for the PS3.

Using BabelFish to translate the excerpt:

“THE SHOCK! At a few hours of looping, here are that fall between my hands an official official statement from SE indicating the “remake from very appreciated FF VII on PS3, only”. Whereas Sony was made bad blood with all these exclusivenesses which pass to him under the nose, veiled that an advertisement comes to flatter its catalogue. SE does not finish any surprising since, rappellons it, since the technological demo of FF VII for announcer the arrival of the PS3, nothing had not filtered (…) a demonstration should be presented at next SquareEnix Party.”

Shocking indeed. Looks like we’ll have to wait ’til the next party to find out if this is real or bogus.
