Bizarre Experimenting With PGR 4
Ben Ward and Gareth Wilson from Bizarre Creations had an interview with OXM in which they felt PGR 3 was rushed and that they could now do a much better job after becoming familiarized with the 360’s hardware. Although nothing has been officially confirmed about the production of PGR 4, Wilson said that, “WeÂ’d be daft not to do another one though, wouldnÂ’t we?” Later, Ward stated, “ThereÂ’s a whole bunch of stuff that didnÂ’t go into Gotham 3, just like thereÂ’s loads of stuff that doesnÂ’t make it into every game. So thereÂ’s loads of things weÂ’d like to get in. WeÂ’ve already done some experiments and things are looking good.”
Wilson admitted that developing PGR 3 was a learning experience in itself because the team learned how to improve on their work every step of the way. Unfortunately, due to time constraints they were unable to get every last change implemented because the launch date was creeping up to fast.
While PGR 3 is arguably the best looking racers to date, it’s promising to hear that the developers believed that they could’ve done a better job. Wilson personally said that he would’ve loved to have more smoke in the game, and I think that someone should do something about those horrid looking trees.
