Rubbing handkerchiefs on Hideo Kojima‘s suit won’t be healing illnesses, but we all still want to see him. Reading about his speech regarding Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, how it will be the last in the series and will incorporate the skills Kojima have acquired for 20 years since the series started, is simply not enough.

So now, here is the footage taken directly from E3 as the game legend took the floor with his translator. Introductions aside, Kojima indeed stated that this will be MGS‘ last hurrah. Everything in the story and other genius plot elements gamers have been pondering about will be revealed in this installment. Kojima added that this will be his last participation in the series as game creator (he said the same for MGS 3).

After showing the trailer and hearing the crowd roar, Kojima apologized for being able to only do so much due to time constraints. He did stress out that it wasn’t a trailer, but more of gameplay footage and we can expect the same quality in real-time action.

We’ll see Kojima demonstrate the game next week, June 17 at the PlayStation Premiere in Tokyo. More details on stealth in battlefield will be unveiled, and “it will look a little crazy.” Nobody says it better than the living legend himself, so here is Hideo Kojima from E3.
