Bob Hoskins expresses dislike towards Super Mario Brothers

Itsa Mario! - Image 1Super Mario Brothers” was the first to turn video games into movies, but it didn’t quite live up to some expectations. Even nostalgia can’t make it any better when people look back and reminisce what their favorite plumber duo looked like in real life. Bob Hoskins himself, who played Mario, wasn’t very happy.

Those who often visited the silver screen back in the 80s would know Hoskins from “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “Mona Lisa.” The big star, even with much success, wasn’t free of difficulties and headaches. Particularly, he wasn’t very fond of “Super Mario Brothers.”

Hoskins told The Guardian in an interview:

The worst thing I ever did? Super Mario Brothers. It was a f****n’ nightmare. The whole experience was a nightmare. It had a husband-and-wife team directing, whose arrogance had been mistaken for talent. After so many weeks their own agent told them to get off the set! F****n’ nightmare. F****n’ idiots.

Well, one thing’s for sure – he is definitely strong-worded. Now, if only we can see the faces of kids who loved that nice Italian plumber…
