Nintendo shuts down Nsider forums

For reasons undisclosed by Nintendo Company Ltd., its four-year old Nsider Forums will be shut down with functions gradually going away starting on September 17, 2007. On that date, the public site will only be available in read-only format.

This will go on for a week and will encompass even private messaging. That means that there won’t be a lot of time to say goodbye to friends out there. Nintendo, however, encourages its loyal fans to create new Nintendo-based forums across the web to allow debates and friendships to go on.

On October 24, 2007 the Nsider Forums will be inaccessible no more. The Kyoto-based company, however, says that it will continue to communicate directly with fans through its Nintendo DS handheld and Nintendo Wii game console. We’ll keep you posted for more regarding this sad development.
