Rein: Unreal Tournament 3 PC demo to be released within two weeks
Two weeks. That’s the amount of time the video game community has to brace itself before Epic Games unleashes the PC beta demo of one of the most gorgeous-looking first person shooters in history, Unreal Tournament 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360). This comes directly from Mark Rein himself through a post in the game’s official forums.
Why should you be excited about it, you ask? First off, it’s Unreal Tournament 3. Second, it’s going to offer not just the ability to square off with bots, but also online multiplayer. Let that sink in for a minute – online multiplayer. That’s right, Epic is letting gamers get a taste of how it’s like to blast people into giblets with the third iteration of the Unreal Engine across the Interwebs. Here’s his post, presented as is, heralding the good news:
Just wanted to give you a heads’ up that we’re getting pretty close to releasing the Unreal Tournament 3 Beta Demo for Windows. The Beta Demo will allow instant action play against bots as well as online multiplayer.
The purpose of the Beta Demo is to test the game on a large variety of hardware configurations and get gameplay feedback from the community. The development team feels they’re pretty close to being ready to release this so it could come out this week but for safety sake I’d say it should be out within two weeks.
So there’s also the possibility of it coming out this week, but Mark Rein added in the extra seven days just to make sure. But the fact that we’re so close to getting some quality frags with Unreal Tournament 3, we can probably wait that extra one week out if the developer team doesn’t come through for this week, right? Right.
