Sega, Alfa Systems working on Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP
The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that Sega is currently working on a PlayStation Portable version of the its long-running franchise Phantasy Star.
While little is known about the game, it was said that it is being handled by developer Alfa Systems which brought Tales of Innocence to the Nintendo DS. More details and the first magazine scan after the jump!
The latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu reveals that Sega is currently working on a PlayStation Portable version of the its long-running franchise Phantasy Star. The new game will be called Phantasy Star Portable and is expected to come out in Japan some time next year.
While little is known about the game, it was said that it is being handled by developer Alfa Systems which brought Tales of Innocence to the Nintendo DS. It was also mentioned that the Sony PSP build is going to be an expansion of PSU: Ambition of the Illuminus.
Ambition of the Illuminus is an installment to the online game Phantasy Star Universe which is available on platforms Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and PC as an MMORPG. The PSP version will feature new story, missions, and four player support in Ad-hoc mode.
There is still no word if Phantasy Star Portable will ever make it to other regions outside Japan. Famitsu however mentioned that Sega will be releasing a lot of updates about this in the coming weeks.
