Virtual Console US gets Kirby’s Dream Land 3

Kirby - Image 1Kirby’s definitely hankering for a Nintendo Wii title of his very own, but at least we’ll be getting to play as him in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, right? But for those of us who want to get more intimate with the pink fluffball of death, then fire up the Wii Shop Channel as it seems that HAL Laboratory‘s Kirby’s Dream Land 3 is headed to the Virtual Console. All the details in the full article.

Even while he isn’t quite getting the first party character treatment from Nintendo as of late (i.e. getting a next-gen title on the Nintendo Wii), Kirby is definitely getting his own share of the spotlight. Not only is he a returning powerhouse in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but Nintendo is also unleashing HAL Laboratory‘s Kirby’s Dream Land 3 onto the Virtual Console, the fifth game in the series where Kirby goes on a righteous rampage to set things right.

And yes, it’s coming to the U.S. How do we know, you ask? We know this because the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) knows this.

For those of us who missed this golden age of platforming, Kirby’s Dream Land 3 takes place once more in Dream Land – and the pink puffball has something new up his sleeve. It’s the “friend” mechanic, back from Kirby’s Dream Land 2, and enables Kirby to enlist the help of seven different friends in his journey. From a blue, long-tongued blob named Gooey to a ribbon-wearing female puffball named Chuchu, Kirby definitely has his back covered in this adventure.

No word on pricing or just what date Kirby’s Dream Land 3 will be downloadable, but here’s hoping it will be very, very soon.
