For those of us looking to see just how our favorite next-gen titles did in terms of sales, then here’s something that should enlighten you: Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Nintendo Wii is currently the best-selling title in the US, not only for the Nintendo Wii itself, but across all consoles. Yes, Masahiro Sakurai‘s epic of smashing and item-lobbing has sold that good in the US, and scoring second place after Wii Fit in Japan.

This report comes directly from Gamasutra’s weekly column, Saling The World, where the top five sellers for every available platform in the US, Japan and Europe are gathered. This is through the computation gleaned from public sales information of Amazon.com and its regional sites. Pre-orders are disregarded from the final figures, of course.
