SNES emulators on the PlayStation Portable are literally a dime-a-dozen thanks to the contributions of the many homebrew developers out there.
Case in point, the highly popular Snes9xTYL homebrew emulator was recently picked up by some new developers and has gone through several new improvements.
Released by a group of Japanese homebrew devs this time (as some of you would recal, YoyoFR and Laxer3a were the original coders of Snes9xTYL), this third Snes9xTYL test build of theirs takes care of fixing some of the problems with the sound quality as well as the SRAM emulation. The result was a slightly slower emulation speed, but a more stable overall output from the application.
If you plan on using this SNES emulator, please note that the developer mentioned the occurrence some instability issues, such as random sound skipping and the inability to use the sleep and clock functions. Otherwise, it works pretty well as SNES emulators go. In any case, don’t forget to read the included documentation for more information on the current build of Snes9xTYL.
