2006 FIFA World Cup ($39.95) from EA puts the player right at the center of the world’s greatest sports tournament. The goal: lead the national team right through qualification rounds and all the way to the World Cup Finals. The reward: the chance to raise the shiny World Cup trophy. The game features: 127 national teams from six global territories (Africa, Asia, Europe, North and Central America, the Caribbean, and South America), 12 official stadiums from the 2006 FIFA World Cup Tournament, and the chance to kick it with past and current soccer legends. Plus a player gets to experience “do-or-die excitement” of the World Cup in the Penalty Shoot Out mode. Not sure if the have boos and jeers track if you miss though. No release schedule for 06 FIFA World Cup has been announced, but EA  is now accepting pre-orders at their on-line store.
