SCEE: starting next year, PS3 trophies will be mandatory

No more having to wait for news on whether your favorite (and not-so-favorite) PlayStation 3 games will be getting trophies or not. According to SCEE, by 2009, all newly released games “must have trophies.”

That deserves a trophy.

No more having to wait for news on whether your favorite (and not-so-favorite) PlayStation 3 games will be getting trophies or not.

According to a spokesperson from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, “from Jan 09, all games must have trophies.” That news deserves a trophy.

Just to be clear, this news pertains to new releases, so it doesn’t necessarily apply to games that were released before the trophy system came out. However, it does guarantee that you won’t have to worry about it for every game that will come out after this year ends.
