The Xbox 360’s been enjoying Netflix for some time now, and it’s always been hoped that the service will eventually come to the PlayStation 3 too. Now the rumor mill is churning out new info that this might happen after all. Not only that, it might even come to the Wii as well.
Rumors that it will come to the Wii and the PS3 started when new surveys from Netflix started making the rounds. The surveys asked customers whether they want to see the service become available for the platforms. The survey describes the Netflix service for both platforms to require a “Netflix Instant Streaming Disc” worth US$ 9.99.
A separate disc to support the service would make sense since Sony might be hesitant to give first-party support to the service with a firmware update, considering they have their own video service, and Nintendo‘s much too involved with first-party services to offer their own support.
Early April Fool’s prank, or do we actually have something to look forward to here?
