Video Game Sales Fall 8 Percent Last March
It was a slow March for the video gaming industry. A study conducted by the NPD Group showed that the said industry suffered an 8 percent decrease in sales last month with software sales rounded off at $499 million.
Despite the drop, the industry still did better than the 18 to 20 percent drop forecast from top industry analysts Wedbush Morgan Securities and Lazard Capital.
The video game industry wasn’t the only one that underperformed last month. Hardware sales saw a 31 percent decline, with $220 million, and the video game accessories suffered an 11 percent drop with sales totaled at $100 million. This collective plunge has contributed to the 16 percent drop in the overall sales industry.
