StarCraft II won’t have cross-over play feature at launch
Sorry, guys, but you’re gonna have to wait until you can play StarCraft II with your mates from other parts of the world. After much deliberation, Blizzard has decided that the game will not be supporting cross-server play upon the game’s release.
Sorry, guys, but you’re gonna have to wait until you can play StarCraft II with your mates from other parts of the world. After much deliberation, Blizzard has decided that the game will not be supporting cross-server play upon the game’s release.
This decision was reached after Blizzard looked into the issue of gameplay/server stability. Given that the controversial Battle.net system makes the new matchmaking scheme a huge element of the game, the devs didn’t want players to be burdened with lagging matches with people scattered all over the globe.
However, that’s not an absolute exclusion of the cross-over play feature, it seems. It is expected that after the game’s been launched and has been running smoothly for a while, Blizzard may release the cross-over feature via a patch.
In the meantime, you’ll just have to do with your local play mates. Tha’ts NA=NA, EU=EU, Asia=Asia.
