9Dragons Reputation System Explained
If you are into martial arts, or at least love to watch movies like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Hero, or even the classic Drunken Master, chances are you’re going to love 9Dragons, the first authentic martial arts MMORPG. The game takes you to the time of the Ming Dynasty where you can rise from a poor beggar to being the master of the martial arts. That is if you can survive the intensive training with no less than the greatest masters of ancient China.
While all that puts you in the mood for some high-kicking Kung-Fu moves, the game offers a bit of realism with its reputation system. Just like in real world, a reputation is something that other people associate with you and in 9Dragons, the developers wanted to capture this same sense of reputation. The great thing about it is that you don’t have to spend the same amount of time in the game world as you do in the real world. This means you gain reputation by carrying out special quests, killing special monsters or the killing other players in battle.
Though it may sound easy, it doesn’t mean it’s not too important. On the contrary, your reputation can mean a great deal to you as it enhances your abilities in the game. Having the title of “Conqueror of Death Valley” means you have acquired physical and spiritual attacking power and you have an improved critical hit rate. Be warned that a task that earns you reputation is not a walk in the park. You’d have to fight your way through the Life and Death dungeon and survive. If you’re good enough, you can have up to 50 different reputations in the game. But using all that at the same is not possible as that would make you all too powerful. So, you can only use one reputation at a time and you can only change it every two hours.
As in the real world, you’d have to take care of your reputation. If you gain yours by beating other players, you can have your place in the top 10 and be given server-ranking titles such as “Monarch Dragon”, “Azure Dragon”, etc. They are hardest to achieve and you just have to watch your backs so that your rivals won’t stand a chance to overtake you!
There’s just so many ways to earn or lose reputation points in 9Dragons, including the opportunity to make your own reputation. Read more about it by clicking on the link.
