Add Fonts from Windows 3.1 Still Present in Vista Build 5472

The folks at Windows are doing their best to make sure that Vista Build 5472 is good (better than XP, according to some) but there are some features that users would just want scrapped. I’m talking about the “Add Fonts” dialog that’s still present in Windows Vista.

A lot of Windows users have been complaining about this because, admit it, it’s been around for a very long time and it’s never been replaced. This dialog has been in Windows 3.1 (!), Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows 98 and Windows 95. It’s ancient, really, and it’s way past time they replaced it with something that would suit Windows Vista.

Not that this feature will slow down anything; some users are just saying that it might be a good idea for the Windows team to pay attention to detail – even to details as minute as the “Add Fonts” dialog.

Hopefully, this little feature will be updated sometime soon; though I doubt anyone would be using it as much when you can just drag and drop fonts into the folder or use the program’s installer.
