Amazon Japan: More customers want Wii than PS3

amazon japanIn Japan, the next-gen console war is a two-way battle between Wii and PS3. Going by Amazon Japan’s customer registration data, Wii is leading the race. According to the latest digits ending October 4, Wii topped the 60GB PS3. Although Amazon Japan has been collecting customer registration data for the next-gen consoles since July, it wasn’t until September when Wii pulled ahead of the 60GB PS3.

The 20GB PS3 is in third place despite a price cut (US$ 430) designed to make it more competitive with the the Wii (US$ 212) and the Xbox 360 Core System. However, the PS3 appears to be doing better stateside. Limited PS3 pre-orders offered by GameStop across the continent sold out within minutes.
