Armored Core 4A: For Answer surfaces with details
What’s next for From Software‘s Armored Core series? Armored Core 4A: For Answer is coming to the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 with new features that should make fans drool, and allow newcomers to enter the intense world of fighting mechs. Find out more by heading over to the full article.
Much like From Software‘s previous entries to the Armored Core series, it looks like the fourth installment will be going through various reiterations before the fifth arrives. Armored Core 4A: For Answer is the answer to Armored Core 4‘s (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3) flaws which were brought about by time constraints attached to launch titles (AC4 came out with the PS3 in Japan), said producer Toshifumi Nabeshima.
The new features that will be added to AC4A, however, prove developers aren’t holding back on us to save their ideas for an actual sequel. For Answer is bringing in a new type of enemy called “Arms Fort” to challenge players with gigantic adversaries that can stretch to 7km in length and take more than one big robot to destroy.
Multiplayer mayhem will be taken to the next level with 8-player online co-op, so you can now get help from your friends to finish the game’s story mode. Challenging an Arms Fort is also among the things you can do cooperatively, and new mechs including those that transform are at your disposal.
The game is said to be 70% done, and is slated to hit Japan’s shelves in March 2008. Both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions are expected to be identical, and will see a simultaneous release. Controls are going to be simplified to lower the entry level for non-fans of the series, while owners of Armored Core 4 can use their game saves to carry some parts and badges over. Our eyes are peeled for any updates, so watch this space!
