Assassins Creed Character Control on the X360
Ubisoft has released some new information on the character control of the Xbox 360 version of Assassins Creed today. The game was only officially announced for the Xbox 360 this month, and naturally information about it is divulged by its publisher, Ubisoft. According to Ubisoft they have a rather new method for its controls with the joypad keys being responsible for different body parts in a more unusual way compared to the current X for kick, Y for punch commands.
On the Xbox 360 ‘A’ is for the legs, either jumping or climbing, Y will be used for the head (activate view mode “Eagle Eye” for seeking out the goal person) and B + X for the arms (attacks without/with weapon). This information has been translated from German, so bear with us on this one but what we can derive from the translation is that you use these keys in combination with the analog sticks in order to make your character do these things; allowing free-flowing control over your character’s movements.
For example, you could walk up to a wall and press “X” or “B” to reach with a hand, or you could also press “A” and hop up to it. This game is supposed to be natural, and for this reason there are also no need for artificial traps like moving walls, because gameplay is based around social rules and natural traps of cities.
The game is scheduled for a Q1 2007 release in Europe. Aren’t you excited?
