Auran CEO Tony Hilliam on Fury, Battlestar Galactica
Auran Games’ upcoming MMORPG Fury has been in development for more than two years now, so when news broke that Gamecock will be distributing it in North America, those who were eagerly waiting for its release let out a collective whoop of joy. In a recent interview with GameSpot, Auran CEO Tony Hilliam revealed a few more details regarding their plans for the game’s release.
According to Hilliam, Fury is slated to be release in “Q4 2007 for North America, and as close to that date in other territories.” Auran is also trying to work out a simultaneous release in all Western territories. A release in other markets – China, Korea, and Europe – has yet to be finalized, as Auran is currently “in negotiations with a number of players”. Australasia, on the other hand, doesn’t have anything to worry about. Auran will be handling Fury‘s release in those territories themselves.
Aside from Fury, Auran also has another online game up its sleeve: the Battlestar Galactica XBLA game. While Hilliam didn’t give out any release details, he did say that the team is working “very closely” with Sierra, and that while the game will be released on XBLA, it is “beyond pure arcade” and is “not far off a complete title in the end.” Hilliam also intimated that plans to “work closely with Universal Pictures to tie it in with various releases of the TV show” are in the works.
