Bach praises Gears of War and promises 300 games
Robbie Bach was there on stage with Bill Gates, his boss, at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas to reveal the whole “Xbox 360 sells 10.4 million units” news bit.
But he also found time be happy about Gears of War. Gears of War has sold 2.7 million copies. That’s a lot of copies.
With that kind of success, Gears of War is making Xbox 360 history. Bach proudly described it as a “Halo-like franchise.”
And he promises more games for the Xbox 360, and he’s just the man to do that (Robert J. Bach, 44 year old male, married with 3 children, President of Entertainment and Devices Division of Microsoft Corporation). According to GamesIndustry.biz, the Xbox 360 is available in 37 countries and there are currently 160 titles for it – there should be 300 titles for it by the end of 2007 (that’s the end of this year for those of you who think it’s still 2006).
