Baja Mania and Baja Destruction for the Wiimote (and GameJew too)

Broadsword Interactive‘s Baja Mania and Baja Destruction for the PS2 are also going to be released for the Wii. Of course, both games will take advantage of whatever the Wii remote has to offer.

Those of you familiar with the Baja 1000 off-road race get the idea: motorcycles, dune buggies, ATVs, and modified cars and trucks bouncing all over the dunes (with a motorcycle usually winning – but with the Baja Bug modified Volkswagen Beetles and the Trophy Trucks getting as much attention).

Baja Mania has three kinds of four-wheeled dune buggies, three kinds of six-wheeled cats, and three kinds of eight-wheeled trucks. You race against 15 players, do the usual “earn cash for upgrades” single-player Career mode, there’s a one or two player Arcade mode, and the game features nitro boosting and unlockable arenas.

Baja Destruction is Baja racing with freakin’ missiles.

Both games are published by Conspiracy Entertainment. They’ll be here early 2007.

Thanks to the Wiimote. So it looks like the Wii is getting two more games, and it’s probably partly because of developer interest in the Wii remote. So we’ll end this article with GameJew’s song about the Wiimote (the video is from GamerAndy). And badam, thanks for reminding us about this video, but we’ve been trying to get the song out of our heads, hehe!

Anyway, that’s Nintendo of America“>George Harrison, Senior VP, Marketing and Corp. Comm. of Nintendo of America (imagine what Perrin Kaplan or Reggie Fils-Aime would’ve done). The shirtless Mario is Jonathan Mann, GameJew, the one who got the first Wii at the L.A. Launch (where he also sang one of his 40 songs about the Wii in front of the media). Well, he is the guy behind “Super Mario Opera.”
