Baseball Stars 2 coming to U.S. Wii VC soon
SNK brought us back that gnarly 90’s brawler Fatal Fury back via Virtual Console on the Nintendo Wii a few weeks back, and now they’re throwing more goodies into the online service by prepping up Baseball Stars 2 from 1992. This sporting classic should rock the Virtual Console scene when it finally arrives. Check out the full article for more details.
What’s the latest in the U.S. Virtual Console scene? SNK‘s cartoony baseball sim of 1992 Baseball Stars 2 seems to be inching closer and closer to the American VC. We spotted the title in the latest ESRB update and the “E” rating should make things easy for this classic to find itself into our homes quickly.
Baseball Stars 2 was originally released by SNK in arcades and was later ported to the Nintendo Entertainment System. It had two leagues with nine teams apiece. Wacky fictional names such as the Tokyo Ninjas and the New York Monsters got players riled up.
SNK may have been known better for its Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, and King of Fighters franchises, but Baseball Stars 2 remains as one of its most memorable IPs. Baseball Stars 2 was a visionary of its time, setting the groundwork of today’s baseball simulators.
