Bethesda scoops up Rage publishing rights

In a rather succinct press release, ZeniMax Media today announced that EA is no longer part of the Rage equation. The id Software title will instead be published by Bethesda Softworks.

In a rather succinct press release, ZeniMax Media today announced that EA is no longer part of the Rage equation. The id Software title will instead be published by Bethesda Softworks.

EA was the attached publisher for the post-apocalyptic FPS before id was acquired by ZeniMax, who also owns Bethesda. id founder John Carmack has previously expressed his dislike of having to haggle over and adhere to publishing deals, so this doesn’t really come as a huge surprise.

ZeniMax further clarified that the new publishing deal won’t affect Rage‘s ongoing development. Rage is expected to be out next year on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
