Blood and guts: Beowulf launch trailer video
For those of us itching for more musclebound protagonist action, Ubisoft‘s Beowulf for the Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Xbox 360, and PC is here to satisfy your primal urges. No, not that primal urge – more like the one that involves lots of grunting, slashing, tearing, ripping, and gouging (as well as the requisite arm snap or two), and we see it in action in this latest launch trailer of the game.

In this industry where musclebound male protagonists with pure testosterone for blood sells for about a dime a dozen, Ubisoft Shanghai’s Beowulf for the Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Xbox 360, and PC looks to stand out amongst the rest – and we see it in action via its launch trailer video. Let’s sit back and look at what makes Beowulf different from the other individuals who seem to have a knack of ripping things apart while grunting loudly.
In this video, we can see that while Beowulf may have the stopping power of a giant rocket-propelled chainsaw (ensuring a lot of bloody showers), he also has a few attacks that not only looks painful, but also seems like a lot of fun to do. One of these being twisting your enemy’s arm behind him, breaking it, then climbing onto his back and breaking his jaw in twain. Another is ripping the heart out of an errant dragon – with him riding it. Totally hardcore.
“I am the teeth in the darkness and the talons in the night!” Awesome.
