Blue Dragon not-so-mini-games: enemy evasion, ship hunting

Usually, RPGs always have various mini-games built into the story. We’re not talking about mini-games involving you trying to distinguish Biggs, Wedge, and Piette in a tent in order to win some food for Chrono’s pet cat (ooh, geeky!). Those kinds of mini-games are, shall we say, “casual.” They really don’t affect the story.

Today, we’ve got two gameplay videos of “story-affecting mini-games” in Mistwalker‘s Blue Dragon. These are the kinds of mini-games that seem to be embedded or built into an important aspect of the plot and are required to trigger the next couple of events.

One of the vids revolves around trying to escape some evil red robots. That’s going to have you mashing on the A button to seal the iron doors as fast as you can. The second vid shows you a segment of the game that concerns trying to find various parts of your ship.
