There are cricket video games and then there’s Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 – the first ever cricket video game for Xbox 360 and PC to offer extensive online play.

Via Xbox Live, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007on Xbox 360 will deliver multiplayer tournaments (ICC World Cup 2007 and ICC Champions Trophy 2006), leagues, plus exhibition, and warm up matches. Xbox Live leader boards and specific achievements, such as scoring a century, or winning a match at every ground in the game, will enable players to gain gaming points. It will also feature Xbox Live voice chat for thrash talking and psyke-ing opposing teams.

The PC version of the game will support LAN games and online play with multiplayer leagues, tournaments (ICC World Cup 2007 and ICC Champions Trophy 2006), as well as exhibition and warm up matches.

Both versions of Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 will have up to 16-player simultaneous multiplayer tournaments and ICC-licensed events. Those players who’d rather watch can enable a special feature where up to eight spectators can sit in on the sideline and enjoy on-going tournaments.

Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 is set to be released March 2007 for Xbox 360, PC, and PS2.
