Capcom and Koei Gets Into the Tokyo Game Show 06 Rush

tgs circa 04Game developers and publishers are waiting for the Tokyo Game Show 2006 just as anxiously as devout gamers are. Set to be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on September 22-24, this year’s  video game/expo convention will double as a celebration of its tenth anniversary.

Capcom and Koei have already confirmed that their game titles will be playable at the convention. Devil May Cry 4 for the PS3 of Capcom has been pledged for the event with 12 demo units in tow. For its Xbox 360 offering, Lost Planet will be at hand. The rest of Capcom’s lineup include Clover Studio’s God Hand for the PS2, Power Stone Collection, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd and Capcom Classics Collection for the PSP. Meanwhile, a new Phoenix Wright title and Megaman Rebirth will be the playable demo for the DS.

As for Koei, its aim is to basically have playable versions of some of its PS3 titles on-hand with Fatal Inertia, Bladestorm, Ni-Oh and Mahjong Taikai IV to be most likely included. Dynasty Warriors Mahjong graces the PSP, as well as the DS, with Pocket Scenario Series Harukanaru Toki no Naka De.

The Tokyo Game Show is believed to become the largest video game expo in the world come 2007 following the announced downscaling of E3 in  mid-2006.
