Capcom debunks Resident Evil 5 October release date speculation

A few days back, the rumor mill churned out something about Resident Evil 5‘s  release date. Now, Capcom has answered the said rumors – spurring more speculation about the most probable release date for the survival horror title. More after the jump.

A few days back, we reported on the rumored release date for Capcom‘s upcoming survival horror shooter Resident Evil 5 (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360), and today, we’ve got an update regarding this product of the rumor mill. According to recent reports from Eurogamer, Capcom has debunked the October release date for RE5.

When you think about it, shying away from an October release would be a smart move for Capcom. Who would want to go up against the brick wall that is Gears of War 2? According to some, an early 2009 release will be the most probable release for Resident Evil 5.

Anyway, we’ll keep you posted on more news regarding Resident Evil 5, hopefully an official announcement from Capcom.
