CES 09 – Microsoft answers back to Sony’s “peddling” comment
After calling Nintendo and Microsoft “add-on peddlers” (in an official press release no less), Sony definitely had this coming. Microsoft issues a reply, emphasizing that the Xbox 360 is in a much better place than the PlayStation 3, subtly enumerating reasons how that came to be. Word wars, much? After calling Nintendo and Microsoft “add-on peddlers” (in an official press release no less), Sony definitely had this coming. Microsoft issues a reply, emphasizing that the Xbox 360 is in a much better place than the PlayStation 3, subtly enumerating reasons how that came to be.
“First, I would say we absolutely would not want to trade places with Sony,” said Aaron Greenerg, group product manager for Xbox 360. “We feel like being half the price of the PS3 served us quite well this holiday.”
“At the end of the day, consumers vote with their dollar,” he added. “I don’t think people take comparison grids into retail stores,” citing Sony’s comparison chart of the three consoles’s features.
It’s been like this for a long time. Naturally, each console would play their strengths up.
PS3 vs. Xbox 360, it’s been going on and on. Debating here we come. Why can’t we just agree to disagree on this one? Why go through the extra trouble trying to persuade and debate when nothing is resolved? Either side is just as convicted as the other that his is the better console, and neither side is willing to back down anyway. Why bother? Too much effort, really. My two cents.
