CES 2009: Resident Evil 5 larger than life, six-stories huge; new trailer

Resident Evil 5If there’s anything worth doing, then it’s worth doing big. And when Capcom wants big, they really mean MASSIVE. Their special treat for CES 2009 in Las Vegas: projecting Resident Evil 5 onto the face of the Planet Hollywood hotel, six-stories huge. During the event, participants could actually play a demo stage of the game on their six-story screen – dude, how often can you play a game on the face of a building?! (The only thing missing would be the tentacle boss!) And also, we see a new trailer for the game too!

If there’s anything worth doing, then it’s worth doing big. And when Capcom wants big, they really mean MASSIVE. Their special treat for CES 2009 in Las Vegas: projecting Resident Evil 5 onto the face of the Planet Hollywood hotel, six-stories huge.

During the event, participants could actually play a demo stage of the game, with Chris and Sheva on a boat – a somewhat rail-shooter type of stage. Dude, how often can you play a game on the face of a building?! (The only thing missing would be the tentacle boss!) Other parts of the building even have the whole viral “KijujuKijujuKijuju” campaign projected onto them.

Below you’ll find four videos. The first is a dev interview about the Capcom event at CES, the game’s status in development, and footage of the Planet Hollywood facade. The next two are off-cam footage of some people (damn, they’re so lucky!) playing RE5 on the six-story screen, while the last video is a new trailer.

Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 is to be released on March 13.
