CES 2010: Microsoft doubts 3D gaming, says not coming anytime soon
3D technology is the buzzword in this year Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas with so many companies showcasing their products. From 3D TV’s to some weird looking glasses, it’s obvious that 3D is definitely moving mainstream. Now in the gaming world, Sony has already confirmed its support for the technology, so what about Microsoft? Find out after the break.
3D technology is the buzzword in this year Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas with so many companies showcasing their products. From 3D TV’s to some weird looking glasses, it’s obvious that 3D is definitely moving mainstream. Now in the gaming world, Sony has already confirmed its support for the technology, so what about Microsoft?
According to Xbox’s director of product management, Aaron Greenberg, were still years away from enjoying the home 3D experience:
“I think there’s a lot of questions, to be honest. 3D is great in the theatre, but for the living room? I think we’re a long ways away from that. In the theatre there’s nothing between you and the experience, but as you have other people in the room and other people walking by, well, it’s not the same experience.” But he also adds: “If the consumers want it? Fine.”
