Cliffy B. after receiving the AIAS award

Yes, I'm a natural blonde - Image 1Game developer Cliff Bleszinski admits to being quite [insert f-word here] emotional at the end of the D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate and Entertain) Summit 2007 held at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas. His team won eight out of ten nominations, including the award for Overall Game of the Year for Gears of War. His enthusiasm is best revealed in this statement:

To have that happen last night…I was pretty f***ing emo by the end of the night, to be honest. It actually hit me a lot harder than I thought it would. I was texting my girlfriend last night to let her know, then calling my brother and my mom this morning—the whole Hilary Swank example there…that classic photo with her in her hotel room of her chillin’ there with the statue.

Asked about his next pick for Game of the Year aside from Gears, Cliffy said that he’ll probably name Wii Sports adding that “I love tennis, man…you’ve got that super-fast serve you can do and there’s a surprising amount of technique in there.” Other games that were great? “Oblivion…a lot of seriously talented sons-of-b***hes, honestly.”

That’s one good guy for you, always knowing to put credit where it’s due. Hey, I guess that’s why he’s a winner.
