CoD4: Modern Warfare - Image 1Excited to find out how last week’s UK entertainment software releases did? We’ve got the latest Chart Tracks results for you right here! As expected, Activision‘s multiplatform juggernaut Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare landed and dominated the list with its Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 versions getting a firm grip on the number one and number two spots respectively.

The Windows PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare also racked good numbers as it mustered enough sales to land in the eighth place.

Another top-caliber franchise also made waves across several platforms last week. THQ’s revitalized WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008′s Sony PlayStation 2 release landed firmly on third place, while its next-gen counterparts made it to the 10th and 13th places for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3 respectively.

WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 isn’t the only game keeping the Sony PS2 alive and kicking. Konami‘s Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for the last generation’s console king came in on seventh place, while EA Games’ The Simpsons: The Game fared even better with a lock on the fourth spot.

Microsoft and Bungie’s mighty Halo 3 may have slid down six notches from third place to the ninth, but figures are still good and the ownership base continues to grow. A second wind for Halo 3 is expected as the holiday rush countdown winds down.
