ComScore: Nintendo and Apple most popular in Europe for holidays
Looks like the most popular gadget in Europe this Christmas is the Wii if online searches are anything to judge by. According to the figures released by comScore Inc., the gadgets most frequently searched for in online engines in Europe during the first three weeks of November is the Nintendo Wii followed by the iPod. It looks like the most popular gadget in Europe this Christmas is the Wii if online searches are anything to judge by. According to the figures released by comScore Inc., the gadget most frequently searched for in online engines in Europe is the Nintendo Wii.
Their figures reflect the most searched for gadgets for the first three weeks of November in the UK, France and Germany. Their results only come from Internet connections from homes and work locations and don’t include places like net cafes and mobile phones.
The most popular gadget following the Wii is the Apple iPod, followed by the Nintendo DS, the Sony PlayStation Portable and the Apple iPhone. Nintendo and Apple should get ready to clean up for the holiday season.
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console is the fourth favorite in the UK, the sixth in France but only the ninth in Germany. The Sony PlayStation 3, on the other hand, ranks at seventh place in the UK, tenth in France and doesn’t even appear in Germany’s top 10 although the PlayStation 2 is in tenth place.
Special mentions go to the Nokia N95 who appeared in the favorites list in all three countries: it ranked in ninth place in the UK, seventh in France and sixth in Germany.
