Seeing as Crash Commando is a go for release tomorrow on the PlayStation Network, EPOS Game Studios has released a few more details about the game on the PlayStation Blog.
First off: game modes. The usual Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes will be present, and what’s nice about it is that bots can be used when you’re playing online as well as offline.
There’s also a gametype called Map Objectives. This one is exclusively for multiplayer and is played between two teams. The attackers are the ones tasked to complete a set objective while the defenders will have to try their hardest to stop them:
A Map Objectives game is played in steps. At the beginning only some objectives are available, and by accomplishing them, new ones become available until they have all been met and the attackers win. Points are awarded to the attacking team depending on met objectives. The defenders can win by defending efficiently to force the time to run out, since the attackers have to meet objectives to gain extra time. This means that an efficient defense can cut an attack short.
So far, there are two Map Objectives gametypes: Espionage: Data Terminals and Sabotage: Control Panels. In the first, attackers need to download data from four data terminals scattered across the map and bring the data safely home so it can be uploaded to HQ.
In the second, attackers need to destroy three clusters of control panels by planting bombs on them. Attackers also need to defend the planted bombs and make sure they go off, as defenders can still defuse them.

- First Mission – Play an Objectives mission online for the first time.
- Probie Commando – Reach commando level 5.
- Mission Handler – Host games with a combined session playtime of 1 hour.
- Demolition Expert – Destroy 20 control panels.
- Hacker – Upload 20 blocks of data.
- Weapons 101 – Get 20 kills with each of the six primary weapons.
- Globe Trotter – Play a complete game on every map online.
Silver
- Elite Commando – Reach commando level 15.
- Boot Camp Beast – Complete all Grunt and Jarhead Boot Camp missions with a Commando Medal score.
- Crash and Conquer – Win 20 online games.
- Survival of the Fittest – Have all three survival bonuses activated at the same time in an online game 10 times.
Gold
- Crash Commando – Reach commando level 25.
