DICE announces Patch 1.05 for Battlefield 2142

Battlefield 2142

After promising to look after the players, DICE is keeping its word and has just announced that it will be releasing a patch for the EA game Battlefield 2142 later this month. This patch should solve several issues which players have brought up. DICE (Digital Illusions CE) claims that more than 25 fixes were made, and among the things that the patch is expected to fix are the following:

  • Titan will no longer be able to move once its shields are down, so that lag within the titan should be significantly reduced, and being revived inside the titan shouldn’t be a problem any more
  • Changes in EA master server communication to greatly reduce disconnects
  • Players are now able to receive the Titan Survival Pin
  • All players will see the same missile silo location numbers in Titan Mode

DICE has also clarified that the said patch will be dedicated only to removing bugs and making fixes in order to reduce the chances of having new bugs when later patches are released. The company has assured that gameplay mechanics will not be affected. In the meantime, it has not yet announced the exact date when patch 1.05 will be made available, so stay tuned for more updates on this matter.
