Downloadable Wii Speak Channel coming in December

Wii owners are no doubt quite excited about Nintendo’s new Wii Speak accessory that will come bundled with Animal Crossing: City Folk once the game hits retail on November 16. Thing is, it’ll be a while before Wii Speak can be used outside of the game.

Wii owners are no doubt quite excited about Nintendo’s new Wii Speak accessory that will come bundled with Animal Crossing: City Folk once the game hits retail on November 16. Thing is, it’ll be a while before Wii Speak can be used outside of the game.

According to IGN, the Wii Speak Channel, which would let Wii owners chat to each other outside of Animal Crossing: City Folk, will not be available until December. This info comes straight from a branding on the Wii Speak packaging, as you can see in the image to the right.

You can still use the Wii Speak feature in Animal Crossing: City Folk once it launches, though. The Wii Speak Channel itself is the only thing that’s been delayed.
