It seems that Cinematronics’ Dragon’s Lair is about to get reborn, as publisher Digital Leisure planing to release a Blu-ray version of the game. But you guys knew that already, we’ve announce this game-that-doesn’t-really-need-the-PS3-specifically to you folks a few days ago. But since a press kit was made available recently, here are a few extra details on the game.

The 1983 game was the first to use laserdisc technology, and it allowed for it to wow audiences of the era. Now, following last year’s re-release on the PC, Digital Leisure is set to transfer the entire game to Blu-ray disc format, and promises that the game will deliver true 1080p.

The game also includes brand-new interviews with creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and Rick Dyer. It also features a full length visual commentary on it. Digital Leisure also plans to follow up Dragon’s Lair Blu-ray with releases of Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp for the Blu-ray.

Dragon’s Lair will be the first game to use Blu-Ray Java programming and will be released on April 9, 2007 and should retail for US$ 49.95.
