DSgfxconverter from delfare

screen

delfare has released a homebrew app, which he calls the DSgfxconverter. If his name sounds familiar, delfare has created a number of DS apps including Warrior Training, Another Life: Twin’s Agony, Ping Pong, and ViDeoconverterS. He was also one of the winners in the NeoFlash Coding Contest Apps Division for his My Exporter / Animator 3D.

Now on to his current app, the DSgfxconverter. Submitted in the NEO Summer Coding competition under NDS app, the DSgfxconverter was dubbed as “not really an NDS app” by one Neoflash reader. Well, whether it is a true DS app, or just remotely related to Ninty’s handheld, we still think it’s something worth sharing with our readers.

DSgfxconverter converts textures (.jpg, .bmp, .pcx, .png, .tga) to .bin file for textures for 3D objects. It also supports the 3D blending. Delfare’s homebrew app has 5 parameters: the Texture filename , the .bin file file name and the 3 RGB values. That is all the info we have for now although delfare was kind enough to make a demo (we included it in the download file, it’s called Blending) on how to use DSgfxconverter. That should be very helpful for those of you who want to give this a try.
