Electronic Arts has revealed the two cover athletes for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable versions of NCAA Football 09. According to the recent press release from the company, former Cal wide receiver DeSean Jackson will be on the PS2 cover while the PSP will be graced by former West Virginia Mountaineer Owen Schmitt.

What did these two players do to deserve a slot on the cover? Well, Jackson ranks third in receiving yards (2,423) and touchdowns (22). He was also a first team All-Pac-10 selection, led the nation in average punt return yards, and was also drafted to the NFL in the second round (49th pick) by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Schmitt, who played fullback in his college football stint, is regarded by some as one of the best players ever in West Virginia Mountaineer. He has earned 21 career starts and carried the ball for 1,003 yards, netting him a good 6.3 yard average.

NCAA Football 09 is expected to be available in North America on July 15. Aside from the PS2, and PSP versions, the game will also be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Nintendo Wii, and DS.
