EA’s Wii Prediction: Based from Nikko Citigroup’s?
Because of the many anticipation and speculations for Wii, any information seemingly related to it gets overblown in the internet. Just today, another rumor regarding its release price in Japan, including a quote from gaming manufacturer giant Electronic Arts (EA), spread.
However, the said rumor failed to mention that EA’s statement might actually be based from a research conducted by Nikko Citigroup. According to this Tokyo-based financial institution, Wii could be carrying a Japanese price tag of Â¥19,500. If converted, this translates to $ 167.714.
This dropped price, Nikko Citigroup added, came from the expectation that Nintendo can actually produce the console’s CPU at a lower cost. They further pre-warned gamers, as to avoid let down, that products costs follow exchange rate conversions.
As of now, Nintendo has yet to make an official statement about the price of its highly awaited console. Everyone expects good news though, as a Nintendo press conference is slated this coming Wednesday.
