Viking: Battle for Asgard – Midgard’s going to Hel, with screens too
Hell hath no fury like, well, Hel, daughter of the Norse god of mischief himself, Loki. In Viking: Battle for Asgard, Hel seeks to start Ragnarok, the final battle that will bring about the destruction of all the gods in Asgard. But is she as evil as she’s cracked up to be? Or is she simply cracked? Check out the full article for Hel’s story and also for some new screenshots.
Unlike the gods of Greek mythology, the Norse gods are burdened with the knowledge of their inevitable death. In the final battle, Ragnarok, the gods of Asgard will be slain. Playing as Skarin in Viking: Battle for Asgard, it’s your mission to see it doesn’t happen.
There is one god in Asgard famous for playing his part in bringing about Ragnarok, and this is Loki, the god of mischief. But he is not alone. With him is his daughter, Hel, the main baddie in Viking: Battle for Asgard.
Hel was banished from Asgard, the home of the gods, and to take revenge she wants to bring about Ragnarok. In Viking, Hel believes that Valhalla should be open for all humans, not just those who the gods favor.
As honorable an idea as this is, she went all loony and started killing humans indiscriminately to increase her underworld army. With her army she wants to wipe out humans, bring about Ragnarok, and then move on to destroy the gods.
Viking: Battle for Asgard will be released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Check out this new batch of screenshots:
