Engine Software acquires license to develop Wii games

Engine Software - Image 1The development studio Engine Software – of such games like the DS version of Puzzle Quest and Marvel Trading Card Game – has announced that they’ve been licensed by Nintendo of America as an official Wii developer, marking their seventh consecutive license from Nintendo.

Engine Software has developed games for the DS, Game Cube, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color, the original Gameboy and the Super Nintendo. As of yet they don’t have any games in development for the Wii but they’re currently looking into possibilities for retail and digitally-distributed games for the platform.

Right now the studio plans to translate some of its apps for the Wii, like their Music & Sound Replayer middleware for the Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS.
