Enterbrain: Wii exceeds 6 million, Wii Fit 2 million sales in Japan
Japan‘s Enterbrain has just announced that Nintendo’s Wii Fit title has already exceeded the two-million sales mark for the region as of yesterday. The Wii console is enjoying similar success, with six million sales now under its belt. More details are available in the full article.
Aside from Europe and North America, Nintendo’s Wii Fit title is also receiving a very warm reception over in Japan. The region’s Enterbrain publication has recently announced that as of yesterday (May 13), the game’s sales in their region have already exceeded 2 million units.
Wii Fit is the third title for the console to pull off this achievement, the previous two being Wii Sports and Wii Play. On a related note, Enterbrain also announced that the Wii console had exceeded the six million mark. The PlayStation 3, by comparison, sold 2.06 million units.
Whether Wii Fit will indeed be making millions of gamers in its regions slimmer or not, one thing is certain: healthier times are ahead for Nintendo, at least if the game maintains its momentum. Drop by again in case we run into any more related news.
