Etrian Odyssey 2 details revealed
Those who enjoyed the lush scenery and immense gameplay in Etrian Odyssey for the Nintendo DS should be excited to know that a sequel is already in the works, as indicated in scans from this month’s issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu.
Sekaiju no Meikyu 2 (Etrian Odyssey 2) is now being developed by Atlus, and it’s jampacked with new features that will further spice up the already in-depth gameplay of the first Etrian Odyssey title, with new classes (Doctor Magus, Gunner, Pet) and new rules.
Not much is known about the Magus class, but a poster in NeoGAF supposes that it’ll be a combat mage of sorts, that specializes in healing as well as giving offense boosts. The Gunner specializes in attacking with elemental bullets, while the Pet is a playable animal class.
The orange ball of fluff – known as FOE – will move and attack according to new rules, and will even have new types as well. Other changes will include the implementation of auto-saves in dungeons, three ink colors for use during cartography, and putting the character status window while buying equipment, so players can check the equipment’s effectiveness before buying the goods.
Certainly an exciting update, and we couldn’t wait for its release. No release date was given, but you can be sure that we’ll keep you posted!
