Europe Shouldn’t be Affected by Theft
Nintendo said today that the European launch of the Nintendo DS Lite will be relatively unaffected by the theft of the DS Lites in Hong Kong. A Nintendo spokesperson says, “There will be little impact on the European supply as the licensed producer is rushing additional output.” Then again, with the way that DS Lites have been selling out in North America and especially Japan, I don’t see how 12,600 units (worth $1.8 million) is going to have no effect on the market. Police have been unable to find the thieves responsible, but expect to see the units making the rounds in the black market soon.
